The 72 Hour Shootout Launch Party Forges Ahead — and I’m Invited
First, a reminder just in case your mind’s been numbed by all that’s been happening these pase few days. Click here.
Otherwise:
It’s virtual! For the 16th year in a row, the Film Lab is hosting the annual, global 72 Hour Shootout filmmaking competition to create gender and ethnic parity in entertainment and to provide filmmakers from underrepresented groups with everything from cash prizes to network television mentorships.
During these uncertain times, the stories and voices of traditionally marginalized groups become even more important to provide exposure opportunities for and the Film Lab has determined the Shootout will go on — albeit as never before! All events, since March, have and will continue to be virtual (until it is safe to be otherwise) and this year’s competition will be our first ever ISOLATION EDITION (seem YouTube video below) in which filmmakers film independently in the comfort of their own homes.
A special theme will be announced online on June 4th and the filmmakers will have 72 hours within which to complete their films. Join us at 7:30pm EST / 4:30 Pacific on June 4, 2020, to see what it’s all about:
