You need to read Washington Post Opinion Piece Essay by Michelle Norris about race and bigotry before the chickens that have come home to roost really cut loose. Click here.

Also, check out her Race Card Project. The clock is ticking. Don’t forget what former Acting Hunter Provost Dr. Valedia Dente said about the department’s image and reputation of hostility towards Black faculty and staff.

Now that Former President Jennifer Raab’s has been forced out, things may not be looking ominously in your campus field of view but the view from outside prophesies otherwise.

{What Americans Really Think About Race and Identity” by Michelle Norris will be published January 16 by Simon & Schuster.}

Colleagues in a department once described as “schizophrenic” by former Hunter Presiden Jennifer Raab at a public awards ceremony have filed and tried to file more violence in the workplace complaints than any other department at Hunter — and possibly CUNY. All the complaints and attempted complaints were filed against African Americans. Former Acting Provost Dr. Valeda Dente challenged the department to do something about its image and reputation for being hostile to Black staff and faculty — too bad that she didn’t do more before she fled the coup. Former Provost Vita Rabinowitz once said in a conversation with this colleague that she was ready to do something about the racial bigotry in the department. She was forced out of office by erstwhile Hunter President Raab before she could do anything.
