NYCLU: Mahmoud Khalil Will Not Be Silenced — Part 1
Mahmoud Khalil will not be silenced. The lawful permanent resident, who was kidnapped by the Trump administration and held in detention for more than 100 days, is making up for lost time.
You can hear from Mahmoud in his own words on one of our latest episodes of the NYCLU’s podcast — Rights This Way. We released this episode in partnership with the ACLU’s podcast, At Liberty.
The NYCLU and ACLU are part of the legal team — including the ACLU of New Jersey, the ACLU of Louisiana, Dratel & Lewis, the Center for Constitutional Rights, CLEAR, Van Der Hout LLP, and Washington Square Legal Services — that successfully fought for Mahmoud’s release. Now back home in NYC, he’s using his right to speak out to advocate for Palestinian rights in press interviews and meetings with elected officials.
At Liberty host W. Kamau Bell speaks with Mahmoud about his reacquired freedom, spending time with his family, including his newborn son, and what he wants everyone to remember from his experience taking on the Trump administration.
