National Writers Union April 19 Protest to Stop ICE and Racist Deportations
National Writers Union
{Edited for Style} –On April 19th, NWU will join a group of immigrant neighbors to raise our voices against the lies, hatred, fear, and attacks being carried out by the Renegade President Trump administration and its enablers. We call on our members to join us in this march in solidarity with our neighbors and friends and in building an anti-racist, anti-fascist movement.
When we voted to declare ourselves a sanctuary union in January, we said that “we stand in solidarity with all communities under attack, and understand that the time for unity is now, and that standing united with all workers, particularly the most vulnerable among us, will be key to beating back the attack on our unions and our standard of living in the years to come.”
This action is in keeping with our resolution “to continue to build alliances throughout the labor movement and in our communities with others engaged in similar work to protect the undocumented, and to participate in protests in response to ICE raids or employer collaboration for the sake of union-busting.”
