I Gotta’ Binge HBO Horror Series ‘The Outsider’ That Just Ended Last Night (Sunday Evening March 8), I Just Gotta’
“Even as I found the pacing too slow at times and felt it took too many episodes to tell a story we already kinda knew,” writes NPR’s Eric Deggans on his widely read Facebook page, “tonight’s finale for #TheOutsiderHBO was still thrilling. And it remains one of the best translations of Stephen King’s writing tone to TV that I have ever seen.”
Gregg Morris posting on FB Page Deggans:
“Amen to ED’s take on The Outsider except for this. My feelings about the “slow” pacing and “too” many episodes changed over time and I don’t know why. Usually those are enough factors to cause me to lose interest in a TV/Netflix series. Didn ‘t happen this time. I plan to binge watch re-runs as soon as possible. I want to know if that binging results in some kind of clarity about my mild distress aggravated by the hiatus between episodes — 7 days — as well as the slow pacing and what I felt–early on, that is–were superfluous episodes.
My Binge: I’m thinking at least 3 episodes a day over a short period time could lead me to a higher level of appreciation of what the writers and producers and director(s) had in mind.😀*
*Of course, if ED decides to interview the TO creative talent about these matters, I sure hope he lets us know.😀
