The City University of New York (“CUNY”) has announced that it is supposedly committed to addressing discrimination and retaliation reports promptly, consistently and fairly via its University-Wide Discrimination and Retaliation Reporting Portal .

This tenured assistant journalism professor — writer, published author and journalist — based on years of teaching in Hunter’s Film/Media Studies and serving on several College-wide committees, and successfully dodging and dancing around, though occasionally misstepping on land mines—is trying to keep an open mind regarding this announcement.

The following publicly available form allows for the submission of a report of discrimination and/or retaliation, as prohibited by and defined in CUNY’s Policy on Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination (“EO Policy”).

For reports of sexual harassment or sexual violence, including sexual assault, stalking, domestic and intimate violence, according to CUNY, please, according to CUNY, follow the process outlined in CUNY’s Policy on Sexual Misconduct.

This report will be submitted to the Chief Diversity Officer of the CUNY College or school that is implicated, according to CUNY. {What if the school officer been caught acting unfairly as has happened at Hunter?} The Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) will review this report thoroughly and take appropriate action, which may include reaching out to the reporting individual for more information or…
